| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Do you take cases - such as personal injury, caused by a
road traffic accident - on a "no win no fee basis"?
A. Yes, although it depends on the nature and circumstances
of the claim. An insurance premium may be payable. Sometimes this
type of arrangement may not be advantageous to either you or us.
Q. I am a Landlord and have a problem with my Tenant. Can you
help me remove him and re-posses my property?
A. Yes, although the remedies that may be available to you
will depend on whether it is a business property or a residential
property and also on the tenancy agreement.
Q. How long does a divorce take to complete?
A. The divorce itself will take 4 to 6 months provided it
is undefended. However other matters such as children and financial
affairs may take longer to resolve.
Q. Can you take my case on Legal Aid?
A. Subject to eligibility we are able to provide legal aid
for family and children matters. In certain circumstances other
legal problems can be dealt with on this basis. Please contact us
for further information.
Q. Do you serve clients in the Slough area only?
A. These days, technology allows us to act for a client wherever
they are. Indeed, our clients come from the length and breadth of
the country, and abroad!
Q. How do I fund my case?
A. In most cases, with the exception of conveyancing and
wills, the normal practice is that we bill regularly - usually monthly
- to keep you fully up-to-date with the costs position. If this
causes you a problem ad public funding is not available we may be
able to arrange loan finance from a reputable lender
Q. Do you provide a fixed fee service?
A. Yes, but only for certain types of work, such as drafting
your Will. We will however always give you a detailed estimate of
costs and will seek your instructions if we are about to take any
action which means that the estimate given will be exceeded. Please
ask us for details.
Q. My business is going through a difficult time. Can I make
any of my staff redundant?
A. Probably, but it depends on the circumstances in each
case. Furthermore, you need to follow proper procedures to avoid
a claim for unfair dismissal. It is vital that you take legal advice,
prior to taking any steps to make an employee redundant.
