Prairna Kanwar

Prairna joined Barrett and Thomson in January 2015.


Completed LLB Law with Business degree in 2013 and then went on to complete the Legal Practitioners Course in 2014. She then started as a Paralegal in Barrett and Thomson’s family department dealing with public and private matters. Prairna will soon be qualifying as a solicitor under the Law Society’s period of Period of Recognised Training scheme. Prairna now undertakes representation of all of the firm’s clients at Public Law Outline meetings with the Social Services department and their legal advisers. This includes taking instructions at very short notice and often meeting the client just before the meeting. She undertakes urgent injunction work for victims of domestic abuse as well as Public Law and Children Act proceedings.


Previously worked in areas such as Criminal and Employment law.


Outside of the office, Prairna enjoys travelling and socialising with friends and family.
